Tax Policy
GAM plays a key role in developing sustainable tax policy for Georgia's economy and for manufacturers. Manufacturers play a critical role in the well being of communities across the State. Many of these companies are, and have been, the primary employers for generations. We're working with the State and local governments to ensure the incentives are aligned to benefit all stakeholders.
- Assisting member companies in the application of tax credits and other economic incentives offered by the State to manufacturers. We help members ensure they meet all eligibility requirements.
- Job Tax Credits: The State has a variety of tax credits to businesses that create new jobs or invest in certain designated areas of the state. We help our members navigate this process.
- Renewable Energy Tax Credits: Georgia offers a range of tax credits to businesses who invest in renewable energy projects. GAM assists with these credits and works closely with the key utility companies to expand the use of environmentally safe energy options.
- Research and Development Tax Credit: GAM has been heavily involved in the development of policy for research and development tax credit program, which provides tax credits to businesses that invest in research and development activities in Georgia.
GAM and our members are at the table for these critical discussions that keep Georgia as the top state in the country for its business-friendly environment.
