GAM plays a very consequential role in protecting Georgia's environment and balancing the needs of manufacturers to produce the goods that the State and Nation rely on. Air, water, and soil quality are subject matters we know well and we work with the legislature and the State's various regulatory agencies to get the policy and regulation right. We are involved in many areas that relate to environmental including:
- Environmental Compliance: GAM represents member companies in understanding and meeting local, state and federal environmental laws. We assist in all areas related to air and water quality, hazardous waste disposal, and land use.
- Pollution Prevention: GAM's forums and legislative committees work on a wide variety of pollution prevention and mitigation efforts. These include programs to reduce emissions from vehicles and industrial facilities, prevent water pollution, and reduce waste.
- Environmental Partnerships and Education: GAM is committed to working with partners across all civic sectors to promote environmental awareness and encourage responsible environmental stewardship. We are here to assist local communities to preserve the State's beauty and resources for many generations to come. .
- Emergency Response: GAM is there with member companies and manufacturers across the State to assist in an emergency. Any issues that threaten public health or the environment, we're ready to put our networks and resources into solving the issue at hand.
